Benadryl Dosage For Dogs Chart

The general rule of thumb for Benadryl dosage for dogs is 1mg per 1lb of the dog’s weight.  It’s generally safe to give your puppy the medicine 2-3 times/day.  It’s always a good idea not to exceed the maximum dosage of benadryl for your dog. If you find that you’re giving your dog Benadryl for extended periods of time, 2-3 weeks, it’s probably a good idea to get them in to see a vet.  Below is a simple chart that gives Benadryl dosage for dogs for those of us who don’t like math!

If you need to higher than this, I’d recommend one of two things.  Either looking into Benadryl dosage for horses, because you’ve obviously mistaken your dog for one.  Or, a diet plan for that pup of yours.  I doubt anyone could afford to feed or give medicine to a dog that size!

Check With Your Vet About Benadryl Dosage For Your Specific Dog

As always consult with your vet prior to giving your dog medication.  It’s generally safe to give over the counter medications to puppies, but checking with a professional never hurts.  It probably makes sense to confirm the Benadryl dosage for your specific dog as well.  In case there is something out of the ordinary that would impact them.
