As we all become more aware of how harmful chemicals can be to ourself and our pets, we start to look into things like organic homemade dog shampoo. You have a couple options, the one I’m going to discuss will ensure you know exactly what goes into your shampoo.
Option 1 – Buy your organic dog shampoo
Option 2 – Make your own organic dog shampoo
Making your own requires a little more work, but is really the only way to know exactly what’s in the shampoo. And honestly, making homemade dog shampoo is so simple it’s a waste of money to buy it.
Here’s the instructions:
Step 1 – get some organic liquid dish soap
Step 2 – get some organic oatmeal
Step 3 – get some organic olive oil
Step 4 – get some organic scented oil if you want the shampoo to smell nice
Take a quart of warm water, add about 1/4 cup of the dish soap, 1 cup of oatmeal, a table spoon of the olive oil, and about 8-10 drops of the scented oil (however much you like). Shake well and now you have your shampoo.
Use just like you would regular shampoo, just realize you might have to shake it up a few times during the bath to keep the ingredients mixed up.
